I am a black woman. I am upset about the comment Imus made, however, his apology is enough. He doesn't have to lose his show. I say this because black people need to also protest and demand the a law against radio stations playing lyrics against the black race or any other races. There lyrics are much worse that what Imus said. Until then there are no double-standards, Imus has a right to stay on the air. |

Sometime in 1990,I came across Imus in the morning and kinda liked the show. But it did
not take too long to realize that this man was
a throwback on drugs or some other hullucianic
medication, I never turned to that channel at
that time of morning for fear of seeing that
sicko spewing utter garbage out of his mouth.
Shame on you for your lack of respect of women regardless of their color or creed.

For the tv and radio station that employs Imus to ponder his future somewhat signifies their point of view towards black people also. How can you put in your ethics handbook \" We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind \" and stand by and do nothing about something that is so insensitive and degrading as Imus's comments. Thanks for justifying the legitimacy of people like Louis Farrahkan, The old Malcom X, Black Panthers, and other militant Black Leaders and it \"spits on\" the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King whom died so that things like this would cease to exist. |

Imus made a hateful comment that just makes me sick! I never watched his show I felt he was an old man that never grew up! The Rev. Al Sharpton is a disgrace to the clergy. He speaks more hate and vengeance than Imus ever came close to. The Rev.Al Sharpton needed to show forgiveness and stand up for gods word.He showes hate and vengeance in all of his actions! He is not a leader of gods word. He is making a living on the poor Black people. Discrimination shows on color. It is a tool of Satan. I pray people see just what Sharpton is a predigest self centered user.I grew up with an older black man in the late 60's his name was Bill Hill from Newtown Pa. Sharpton will never be the man Bill Hill was. And today through him I taught my kids what he taught me. A Black man that made a change in my life. Sharpton you are a disgrace to the black race and the word of god. But I do forgive you for your sins and one day god will have some words with you .There is no Black or White we are all people made by God! |

what imus said about Rutgers was disgusting.But what i find more disgusting is sharpton.where does he get the nerve to chastise anyone about a racist remark ,when it' well known he'a racist.I'M a 46yr. old black man who's experienced 1st. hand accounts of racism 'but i can,t find myself to hold all white people accountable.sharton is a hypocrite to the highest level.when will he apoligize for all the hurtful remarks he's said or done.look in the mirror sharton then maybe you will step down and let someone with all people in mind take the mike. |

Obviously his comments were a little off center. But I don't believe it was enough to cost him his career.Everyone listens to Rap Music that is a far more worse than this and no one says anything to them. Freedom of speech should work both ways, and the supporters of the Black people - The Reverend Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson don't really care - they just make the news and dummies keep sending them money to continue their efforts to hold Black people down. If they were fighting for education and compliance with the law it would be different but you always see them making the news only when they can be in the spotlight! |

Kenneth made a great point in his write-up. He noted the standards which The Reverend Al Sharpton plays by. Let him that has never said something stupid cast the first stone. Have Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson or the Attorney for the Young Lady at the University in North Carolina where they exclaimed them all to be guilty prior to trial or hearings but no one has apologized to them? |

racism is racism no matter the color, religion, or sexual prefernce. I hate racism. BUT al sharpton and jessie jackson are racist. Black people need someone better to look up to than them. It's too bad Martin Luther King got killed. He quietly protested for real peace between all races. It's what he wanted. |
